Activated bamboo charcoal
is obtained from the wood of the moso bamboo. The production process for activated charcoal is quite elaborate: after harvesting, the plant matter is carbonised at temperatures of over 1000°C. This is followed by activation and ultra-fine milling. After straining and sterilisation, the activated charcoal is ready. Activated charcoal is a microporous material with excellent absorbing properties. In Asia, it has been used for detoxification purposes for centuries. It is also ideal for cleaning blemished and oily skin.
