Small, robust and rusty-leaved, the Alpine rose bush (Rhododendron ferrugineum) is typical of the plants found in the High Alps. As protection against the harsh weather conditions (cold, wind, dryness, strong sunlight), the Alpine rose produces potent antioxidants in its leaves. These include taxifolin, rhododendrin, chlorogenic acid and polyphenols. The extract obtained from the leaves has been shown to protect the skin proteins against oxidative stress. The plants we use are organically cultivated on plantations in the Swiss Alps.
