Hyaluronic acid, low molecular weight
Low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (molecular weight: 50 kDa and below) is produced by biotechnological fermentation. Because of its low molecular weight, it is optimally absorbed into the skin, penetrates deeper into the stratum corneum, where it helps retain moisture on a long-term basis. This additional moisture is an effective way of stimulating the sluggish metabolism of dry, dehydrated skin, giving it a plumper, tighter appearance.
