GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid)
An ultra-pure, biotechnologically generated amino acid also produced naturally by the human body, where it acts as the most important inhibitory neurotransmitter. Once applied to the skin, it has a “Botox-like” effect, relaxing muscles within minutes and smoothing out laughter lines. At the same time, GABA encourages the skin’s natural synthesis of hyrolonic acid, stimulates the formation of new collagen and supports the skin barrier’s repair capacity. Cell proliferation and the production of the protective peptides involucrin and glutathione are stimulated in the epidermis, while fibroblast proliferation is boosted in the dermis.
