Centella asiatica is part of the umbelliferae family and is found throughout the tropics. It is used in both traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. According to legend, injured Bengal tigers roll in its leaves to help heal their wounds – hence the name ‘tiger grass’. Principal active ingredients include polyphenols (caffeoylquinic acid derivatives), which have strong antioxidant properties. Veins and reddening are less visible – for a healthy, balanced complexion.
